Acne is this an initial breakout?

I just started using the oil cleansing method (www.oilcleansingmethod.com) and it was great at first- got rid of a lot of blackheads and shrunk my pores...now its been a week and I can see after another use I'm breaking out- mainly on the sides of my forehead and my cheeks- tiny little red, angry pimples everywhere- you can tell that its blackheads that are all inflamed. Would this be an initial breakout?? I kinda want to discontinue use of OCM because its doing this...but do initial breakouts clear up? How long does it take?
